There is such a story: One day, a mom said to her child, “Dear son, let me teach you how to walk.” Though not knowing what all that was about, the child gave his mom a nod. Then, his mom loosened her hands on him. Instantly, the child was dumbfounded by his mom’s act, scare coming over him. He was staggering and dared not take a step forward. Then his mom said to him, with her arms reaching out, “Come here to me, dear son!” The child mustered up his courage, took a few steps forward, and threw himself into his mom’s arms. His mom took his hands and comforted him by saying, “Don’t be afraid. Mom is here! Let’s try again.” Then, once again, his mom released her hands, saying, “Come to me, son.” The child walked two steps and yet fell down. He couldn’t help but burst into tears in an instant. From his eyes filled with tears, the mom knew that her child dared not have another try. So, she walked up to him, helped pull him up from the floor, dusted off his clothes, and wiped his tears away with a facial tissue. Stroking her son’s head gently, the mom said, “Dear son, don’t lose faith. Success lies just ahead of us.” As if understanding what his mom was saying, the child nodded his head again. For the second time, the mom loosened her hands. And the child walked on, one step, two steps… Finally, he reached his mom. The mom gave him a big hug and said happily, “You make it!”
The story reminds me of the course of my believing in Almighty God. I return to Almighty God in the same way the child learns to walk. So many times when I hesitated at the crossroads, it was Almighty God’s word showing me the right way ahead and preventing me from getting lost. So many times when I lost faith and didn’t want to step forward in the face of difficulties, Almighty God didn’t abandon me but instead helped me go on with His warm and powerful hands. So many times when I felt disappointed and hopeless because of the thwarting and shattering of my ambitions and desires, Almighty God consoled my broken heart with His broad bosom, gave me faith and the chances to repent. As Almighty God says, “Perhaps, today, you have not felt any of the love or life provided by God, but as long as you do not abandon God, and do not give up on your determination to seek the truth, then there will always be a day when God’s smile will be revealed to you. For the aim of the work of God’s management is to recover the mankind who is under the domain of Satan, not to abandon the mankind who has been corrupted by Satan and opposes God.” (from The Word Appears in the Flesh) From Almighty God’s word, I know that God has never left us but accompanied us all the time. He is waiting for our turning back and returning into His bosom to enjoy His blessing. Are you moving toward this direction? Is success far away from you?
